Saturday 18th August 11.15 -11.20 am Race the Train Start of morning races (10k, 5m & 3m); 12.00 pm Train expected in Tywyn; 2.05 pm Start of main race (14m) from Station Road, Tywyn; 3.50 pm Train expected back in Tywyn. The Finish Line for all races is in Neptune Road, Tywyn, outside the School. Runners compete with steam trains on the Talyllyn Railway between Abergynolwyn & Tywyn. Sunday 19th August 2pm Dysynni Dogs Companion Dog Show at Bwylchgwyn Farm. Lots of fun classes to enter your beloved family pet and some great games, such as ‘Temptation Alley’; Fastest Retrieve; and much more. Refreshments will be available. This is a fundraiser for some new equipment we are hoping to have for agility before too long (new jumps) and CSJ dog food and associated products will be available, and additional stalls also.

Sunday 19th August 3.00pm United Service Celebrating the Year of the Sea at Tywyn Seafront (near the paddling pool) A service giving thanks for those who look after us and keep us safe on the sea. We hope that a representative from the Coastguard will be able to join us, and will be taking a collection for our local RNLI stations at Aberdyfi and Barmouth. The service, lasting 30-40 minutes, will be bilingual including songs, readings, and prayers, as well as the opportunity to build a boat and race it in the paddling pool! Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August August 25th and 26th there will be the annual Model Railway Exhibition at Y Plas in Machynlleth with a mixture of layouts and trade stands including one selling jewellery and ornaments made from recycled glass. It is also planned that August will see the moving of the school wall at Corris as the first stage of developing Corris station from its current basic state. A model of what is planned and how it will fit with the use of the rest of the site can be seen in the museum
