Eleven award category winners, from digital innovation to family business and from international business to employer of the year, will be then go forward to the UK final of the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards, held in London in May 2019. Here, as well as UK category winners, the FSB Small Business of the Year 2019 will be announced.

Ben Francis, FSB Wales Policy Chair, said:

“For a chance to be recognised as the best small business in Wales, as well as in the whole UK, I’d encourage all small businesses to enter the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. SMEs are a vital part of Welsh society - contributing so much to the economy and making our country a more exciting place in which to live, work, study and visit.

“SMEs contribute to our vibrant and dynamic high streets and town centres, and all of us know of a local business that we are proud to support. With smaller firms spending all year round supporting our local economies, it is now our turn to celebrate the small businesses who mean so much to our communities up and down Wales.”

10 years birthday: COMPETITION TIME!

Well, I can hardly believe it is 10 years, next issue (Oct/Nov) since I started to publish Sibrydion. I am hoping to publish a calendar for 2020, (it is too late for 2019, as in this low population, tourist area, I feel we need to have the entire season, to sell a calendar for the following year, to take full advantage of the presence of visitors to the area and maximise sales and funds raised. It will reflect the local area, so I am looking for photos from readers, of subjects throughout our distribution area, which is right round the coast from Porthmadog down to the Dyfi Valley to Machynlleth, and also along the Mawddach Valley and across to Bala, from Dolgellau. Profits from sales of the calendar will be shared with Aberdyfi Search and Rescue, the RNLI, andAir Ambulance Wales, all crucial services to us in this area, so please support this competition.

Non-professional photographersare invited to submit entries of photos, and you must ensure you have a high-resolution (minimum 300dpi) file for it. Keep this safe, and if your photo is selected for printing, you will be asked for the hi-res version. There will be a small entry fee of £3 per photo, which will be used to provide cash prizes for the 1st2ndand 3rd

You can send your entries an A5 print, to me by post to: Bod Idris, Llwyngwril, LL37 2JB, giving your name, postal address, email address, and a phone contact number (landline and/or mobile). Give a title for your picture and state where you took the photograph. Your details will be kept in a secure place, and will only be used in relation to this competition. Please include the entry fee with your photograph. Cheques payable to: Sibrydion Cymuned.

The best photo will have pride of place on the front of the calendar. I look forward to seeing your entries. Lets raise some funds for these crucial local charities, which save many lives in the area, visitors and locals alike.

So look back at your photos or get snapping. The only criteria are that it has to be taken within this area in South Snowdonia/Meirionnydd, where Sibrydion is distributed. It must be your own work and you must be the holder of any copyright for your pictures. If you are under 18, please ask your parent/guardian to issue consent for you to enter the competition:– a note with your entry with signature and name printed and parent or guardian stated. We welcome entries from under 18s wholeheartedly!

Entries need to be submitted any time from now until midnight on 1stDECEMBER

Please write your name address and other contact details on the reverse side of the photograph.

The size of the photo print needs to be sent as 9inches by 6 inches. Please ensure you have a high-resolution (minimum of 300dpi) digital file for the photograph, so that should your photo be selected, it will be possible to reproduce to a high standard.

I think the magazine has really matured into something that people look forward to, want to pick up and read and like to refer back to. That makes the advertising good value for money.

You've done a great job and I hope you can keep it going
